Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units, which is a part of the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), opened an assembly facility in Latvia, BelTA has learned.

The assembly facility has been established at the MTZ-Service company, MTZ dealership in Latvia. The agreement to create an assembly line was reached after the national Belarus-EXPO-2010 exhibition in Riga in September. In December the plant delivered ten tractor units Belarus-320.4 to Latvia.

In 2011 Latvian partners are going to assemble 30 tractors Belarus-320.4, which can be used as agricultural or utilities equipment. If this model proves successful in Latvia, the export of tractor units to that country will increase. “Tractors will be assembled in Latvia, which means the assembly facility will not have to import the details which we buy in the European Union. As a result, the tractors will be more competitive in terms of price,” specialists of the plant are convinced.

Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units operates assembly facilities in Lithuania and Slovakia. The equipment is exported to Germany, Norway, Georgia, Iran, and other countries. In 2010 the plant extended its reach into the Pakistani and Malaysian markets. In 2010 the total output of the company made up 1,571 tractors, 600 were exported to 19 countries.

The company is eager to increase the export of tractors, find new markets and strengthen positions on existing ones. In 2011 the plant is going to produce at least 2,000 tractors and to export about a half of them.

Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units started to revamp the production of disk wheels for agricultural equipment. Thus they will be able to produce 15 types of disk wheels, improve products’ quality and increase their export capacity. The annual output of the plant will reach 500,000 disk wheels. The investment project will satisfy the demand of such Belarusian plants as Minsk Tractor Works, Amkodor, Gomselmash, Lidselmash, etc. The plant will raise Br52.3 billion in investment.

Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units was founded in 1945. It manufactures more than 500 component parts and units for the entire range of tractors. In 2009 the plant started to produce more powerful tractors Belarus-622 and Belarus-422. The company has a quality management system in compliance with the ISO 9001 2001 international standards. Today the company employs about 3,500 people.
