MOGILEV, 17 January (BelTA) – The Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units (Mogilev Oblast) exported its products to 23 countries in 2013. With this, five markets were new for the Bobruisk plant, the company told BelTA.

Among new markets opened by the Bobruisk plant last year are Vietnam, Cambodia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and France. The Belarusian company started the year 2013 with a pilot batch of the rice-version tractor Belarus-321 to Vietnam and completed the year selling four tractors-311 to Nicaragua. All in all, the company sold over 2,000 small-scale tractors abroad in 2013.

“Amid tough competition the growth of exports met the targets in almost all geographical segments of the market. Sales to European countries rose by 13% in 2013 as against 2012, those to the CIS went up by 10%,” the company said.

According to specialists, last year’s achievements in what regards new markets were a logic result of the company’s program on market diversification. Its priority destinations in 2013 were Southeast Asia and Central America. Last year the plant also resumed supplies of small-scale tractors Belarus to Norway, Romania, Italy, Moldova, and Algeria.

Development of new models in line with the requirements of certain markets came out as an additional help in expanding the company’s supplies. Thus, the Belarus-321 model was developed for Vietnam, while a trial model of the tractor Belarus 421 was made for Cambodian agrarians.

The company’s new policy with advancing its products to new markets brings results. Following successful tests in September 2013 the company signed a contract on the supply of almost 250 tractors Belarus-421 to Cambodia in 2013-2014.

Founded in 1945, Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units is part of the industrial group Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark). The company specializes in making spare parts for MTZ’s tractors Belarus. In 2007 the company started manufacturing compact tractors Belarus 320. At present Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units makes nine basic tractor models and municipal vehicles based on them. In 2012 the company turned out over 3,000 tractors.
